Repair and insulation works (RIR) using the composition SNPH-9800

Purpose

The composition is designed to eliminate casing overflows or wellbore leakage of lost circulation zones and water entry in the processes of drilling and repairing oil and gas boreholes.

The SNPH-9800 composition is effective in repair and insulation works of boreholes in cases where cement mortars do not give the desired result. The composition polymerizes over a wide temperature range under the action of an initiator (a curing agent with an adjustable SNPH-E ratio) to obtain the desired physical and mechanical properties and lifetime of the composition. For lost circulation boreholes, the composition can be modified with fillers.

Description

Mobile low-viscosity two-component composition. The polymerized composition based on the SNPH-9800 composition is elastic and possesses high adhesion to metal. The curing time is 2 – 72 hours.

Advantages

  • The resulting cement is resistant to aggressive formation media and acid-base solutions;
  • Long-lasting insulating effect
  • Adjustable curing time
  • Good filterability in the pores and cracks of the formation
  • High adhesive ability and elasticity of the resulting polymer cement
  • Application opportunity at subzero temperatures, heating is required at temperatures below 0
  • The volume of polymer cement acquired is equal to the volume of cement slurry (no shrinkage);
  • Applicable at reservoir temperatures up to 80°C
  • Consumption per borehole is 1-5 tons.
  • Delivery in 200 l barrels, cubic containers or cans.
  • Shelf life is 12 months.
  • Environmental safety and adaptability
  • Low cost of reagents used.

Comparison with analogues

  • Insulation with cement mortar is the main analogue of the compositions used.
  • The use of the cementing slurry is possible even in cases where cement mortars do not give the desired result.
  • The insulating composition (cement) is hydrophobic, elastic and resistant to any shock action.
  • The dynamics of increasing the structural and mechanical properties of the composition (polymerization) is regulated by the ratio of the components.
  • Can be used at any mineralization of reservoir waters and high reservoir temperatures.
  • The ability to store at a low temperature, without loss of properties.
  • The resulting cement is resistant to aggressive formation media and acid-base solutions.
